Jan with Tova & Dagmar
Miracle Shilohs Family Reunion
- 2017 |
My name is Jan DiAngelo. Thank you
for visiting my web site! |
My journey with Shiloh
Shepherds began in 1996, with my first Shiloh Shepherd,
Kuro. |
iCH
abCHPtd Kuro Kamikaze of Zion, TT
(1996-2008) |
Kuro's hips were
horrible, so he could not be bred; however, we named our
breeding operation in his honor. Kuro Kennel boasted:
the first-ever ISSDC Puppy of
the Year; two breed Champions; a two-time National
Select winner; good hips, good health, and two beautiful
litters with Kuro in their names! |
In 2001, I established
Miracle Shilohs, and produced the first litter of
Miracles. Later that year,
Tella,
Sunnie,
Cora and I
moved from Illinois to Prince Edward Island, Canada. Since then,
I have placed
Shiloh Shepherd puppies in happy homes across Canada and
the USA... and even in Japan! |
Our Shiloh Shepherds are truly home raised, which means that they share our
home with us every day of the year. All of our puppies are whelped, cared
for and loved in our home! |
These events take place in the first few weeks of your puppy's life... |
If the dam of the
litter is ready, we introduce the puppies to the older dogs
in our household.
We start giving the puppies "real" food, and begin the weaning process. |
We start welcoming human visitors to come over and spend time with the
puppies (by appointment only). And, weather permitting, the puppies start going
outdoors to play! |
The entire litter goes to the vet,
and each puppy is thoroughly examined: heart, ears, eyes, coat, skin,
structure, weight, and testicles. As part of the examination, the puppies
receive their first inoculations. |
The puppies
are temperament tested, so we can determine which puppy is the best "fit"
for each new family. Also, around this time, we evaluate each puppy's
conformation. |
We make the
final decision about who is going where. |
Your puppy is ready to join your family! |
Our breedings represent diligent efforts to pair the right sires and dams.
It is our objective to produce puppies that come as close as possible to
epitomizing the Breed Standard in health, temperament,
structure and conformation. |

Our breeding Shilohs have received passing adult hip certifications
(typically with ratings of Excellent or Good from the Orthopedic Foundation
for Animals (OFA). Other Shilohs we use in our breeding program have
received passing hip certification with no evidence of degenerative joint
disease either from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or the
Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP).
We also get at least preliminary elbow certification on all of our Shilohs. |
Shilohs used in our breeding program also receive, at the very least, these
additional clearances:
Verification
of Parentage (DNA) through the Veterinary Genetics Lab at UC Davis |
OFA Cardiac |
Thyroid |
EPI |
Degenerative
Myelopathy |
Brucellosis |
We register our adults and puppies with the Worldwide Shiloh Shepherd Breed Association (WSSBA)
Registry.
Also, we are proud members of the International Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club
(ISSDC). |

Edward Island, not far from Charlottetown. If you are going to be in our
