Nellie's puppy was delivered via c-section.
This was a new experience for us, so we had no idea
what to expect.
It took a couple of days before Nellie was willing to
care for her baby.
During that time, Mabel
(who, thankfully still had milk) stepped in!
She cleaned him, and fed him, and loved him, until
Nellie was ready to take over.

This is yet another reason why we love these dogs so
much!
